SNEHA SADAN SPECIAL SCHOOL FOR MENTALLY RETARDED CHILDREN
In 1993, the CMC sisters have started Sneha Sadan Special School for Mentally Retarded
Children at Angamaly. Initially School had 17 students. Later, due to the awareness about
their rehabilitation there was an increase in the number of children. As a result, the
Congregation decided to shift the school, next to St. Joseph Convent Pothiyakkara. Thus, the
school was re-located to Pothiyakkara in the year 2002.
The management and teachers are maintaining a warm and friendly environment in the
school. Thereby aims for an inclusive development irrespective of the difference in their
capacities.
Different therapy units working in the school include Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy
and Speech Therapy. The school also provide with Individualised Education Programme and
the Home-Based Training. The school aims to bridge the gap between the differently abled
and the society.
SNEHA VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION CENTRE
Sneha Vocational Rehabilitation Centre provides with vocational training to the students,
above 18 years of age. It is located next to the school. Various trainings include book
binding, tailoring as well as making of, candle, rosary, ornaments, detergents, carpet, and
craft items.
The institute aims to develop capacitates for doing their daily routine. Which can ultimately
result in self-development.
